During the keynote address at the Microsoft AI Tour in Bengaluru, Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella announced the company's $3 billion investment aimed at boosting India's AI Technology and cloud ecosystem. Nadella pointed out that this growth represents Microsoft’s biggest expansion ever undertaken in the nation.
He presented Microsoft's vision to enable developers and companies to leverage the potential of AI, emphasizing that the upcoming year will be vital as developers incorporate innovative tools into their processes. Nadella stated that Microsoft's strategy for AI emphasizes integrating Copilot technology into current workflows, facilitating smooth user adoption.
"The next thing we are thinking about is extensibility," he added, hinting at future innovations that could further expand AI's reach and functionality. On the debate around scaling laws in AI, Nadella affirmed, "The law is great and absolutely still works."
He detailed Microsoft's all-encompassing strategy for AI, which covers the complete compute stack. The firm has established a vast network of more than 300 data centers worldwide to facilitate AI operations and guarantee reliability on a large scale.
Nadella said that "AI doesn't sit on its own" adding that Microsoft is building the required compute stack. He also highlighted that the tech giant has more than 300 data centres around the world.
Nadella additionally provided insights from his discussion with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during which he outlined Microsoft's vision for India's technology sector. The CEO conferred with PM Modi on Monday, covering various subjects such as technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and innovation.
