Innoviz Technologies Ltd, a Tier-1 direct provider of high-performance automotive-grade LiDAR sensors and perception software, has announced a partnership with an automobile OEM to develop its L4
autonomous vehicle capabilities. This partnership incorporates Innoviz's innovative short-range LiDARs into the OEM's Level 4 self-
driving platform. The company expects the relationship to culminate in a series production nomination in the coming months, subject to commercial arrangements being agreed upon.
Innoviz's Short-Range LiDAR joins the InnovizTwo product platform, which also includes InnovizTwo Long-Range and InnovizTwo Slim. The new short-range design is based on the InnovizTwo Long-Range architecture and features high-resolution detection and a vertical field of vision of more than 90 degrees.
It builds on the product's industrialized maturity and is intended to satisfy the needs of light commercial vehicles, shuttles, robotaxis, and trucks. This new development phase was methodically constructed over the last six months to meet the OEM's demanding RFQ (Request for Quotation) specifications. The OEM intends to integrate numerous short-range LiDARs into each of its L4
autonomous vehicles, so the alliance is ideally positioned to advance a safe and powerful autonomous driving experience.
"This is an exciting moment for Innoviz as we collaborate with a major global OEM on a new product," said Omer Keilaf, CEO and Co-Founder of Innoviz Technologies. "As the L4 market is starting to ramp-up, we are happy to be able to provide a complete set of solutions to meet the needs of OEMs worldwide and support the acceleration of AV adoption across all sectors."
