Great Learning, India’s leading hybrid learning platform for analytics, announced the winners of its second edition of the ‘Great Learning Data Science Excellence Awards’. Organized in association with Analytics India Magazine, the awards celebrate corporate excellence in data sciences and analytics in India.
The winners were awarded by Great Learning at Cypher 2017, India’s largest data analytics conference that brings together the who’s who of the industry. All submissions were assessed by the advisory council members of Great Learning and the organizing team, which included Great Lakes Institute of Management’s analytics faculty and data science professionals from the industry. Submissions were evaluated on the basis of innovation, scalability, impact and implementation of their solutions. Nine companies emerged winners from a pool of 30 finalists in four categories.

Winners under the ‘Best Big Data Implementation of the Year’ category were HDFC Bank andClairvoyant India. The award for ‘Best Boutique Analytics Firm of the Year’ was jointly won by Tiger Analytics, a Chennai-based data science consulting company and Mumbai-based analytics firm G Square, which provides AI-driven analytics for the financial industry. Three teams jointly won the award for ‘Best Data Science Project of the Year’. HDFC Bank and 3LOQ Labs, which teamed up, were awarded for designing a focused approach for identifying the who and why aspects of double-digit attrition on digital channels. The Performance Analytics Group (PAG) at DELL EMC was awarded for designing a new methodology to forecast revenue to manage sales pipeline. And, Touchkin was recognized for its flagship product Wysa, which is one of the world’s first AI-enabled coach and chat platform, that provides mental and behavioural health support.
Sweta Singh and Harsh Urlam, who won the ‘Best Data Science Project of the Year’ award for their academic project with Touchkin said, “We are thankful to Cypher, Great Learning and Touchkin for the opportunity. It was a wonderful competing and winning a data analytics award in our maiden attempt. The Touchkin project was a great opportunity to implement end-to-end analytics project from a healthcare business perspective.”
