Apple and IBM Bring New Apps for Healthcare, Travel, Retail, and Insurance Industries

FREMONT, CA: As part of an ongoing partnership between Apple and IBM to deliver enterprise apps for various industry verticals, 8 new enterprise apps have been launched to assist workforce in healthcare and various other industries, reports Zac Hall for 9to5Mac. These apps are specifically designed to work on iOS devices namely iPhone and iPad.

Apple and IBM deal was forged on the vision of expanding the market reach of Apple devices deep into enterprises by leveraging the Big Data and analytics from IBM. The latest apps that have been launched include:  

Apps for Healthcare
The Hospital RN app for iPhone: staff nurses can now easily access patient records and deliver appropriate care by using the iBeacon technology that enables them to accurately identify patient location.

The Hospital Lead app for iPad: enables nurses to manage responsibilities in a simple manner by utilizing prioritized task lists concerning every patient.

The Hospital Tech app for iPhone: binds the nurse technicians and care teams in a way creating a conducive environment for patient care.

Home RN for iPhone: nurses can add multimedia to the patient record in the form of videos, audio notes, they can also add photos and text and push notification to a patient’s care team to ensure care is delivered.

Apps for industries
Rapid Handover app for iPad: makes creating and sharing of critical information easy in the form of documents listing production goals, equipment maintenance, and crew lists. Challenges such as broken equipment and safety hazards on ground zero can be recorded in the form of photo and dictation. Crew working in a particular shift can update this information which helps those in the other shifts to stay updated and carry on with their work in an efficient manner. This app helps workers in manufacturing and engineering environments.

Ancillary Sale app for iPhone: This app enables transactions in the air. Flight attendants can now offer seat upgrades, food and beverages, and duty-free merchandise, at cost and passengers can make the payments though Apple Pay. They can also avail the in-flight PoS system to make the purchase with their credit card. This app aids the Travel industry.

Order Commit app on iPad: merchants can sell-through from anywhere (office or market trips) to meet their financial targets. This app helps the businesses in the retail industry.

Risk Inspect: insurance inspectors can avoid repeat inspections as the app aids in building highly accurate reports. Using the camera on the iPad, photos and videos of any site can be captured while on the job.
