Each year, the Union Public Service Commission conducts exams for recruitment of Enforcement officers for Employees’ Provident Fund Organization. Candidates intending to make a career in public services and are preparing for the UPSC EPFO exam must go through some details before applying for the exam such as Job profile,Eligibility criteria pertaining to education and age, Exam pattern, Exam dates, Syllabus and more. Candidates appearing for UPSC EPFO Recruitment must meet both the educational qualification criteria and Age limit set by the Union Public Service Commission.
Given below are the details regarding the education qualification and age limit required to apply for UPSC EPFO exam.
â A candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in any field or stream from a university recognised by the Government of India.
â It is desired that the candidate have -
A bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB)
Or
A Masters of Business Administration degree (MBA)
Or
An integrated Degree in Law
Or
A postgraduate degree in Management
Or
Chartered Accountants/ Management and cost Accountant/ Company Secretary.
â Also, a 2 year working experience in Accounts/Administration or Legal matters in a Government organisation or a private organisation that is listed.
The maximum age to apply for UPSC EPFO is 30 years, but there is no minimum age.
The Selection process of UPSC EPFO comprises 2 stages i.e., A Written Test and an Interview.Marks obtained in both the written exam and interview will be considered in the final shortlisting of the candidate. The written test and the interview carry a weightage of 75% and 25% respectively.
The written test also known as recruitment test is an offline objective type test.
Some salient features of UPSC EPFO written test
â The duration of the exam is two hours.
â It carries a negative marking scheme in which one- third or 0.33 marks will be deducted for any incorrect answer.
â The medium of examination is Hindi and English.
â All questions will be multiple choice questions.
â There will be no deduction of marks for any unattempted question.
The candidates clearing the cut off in written examination will be called up for the interview process
Some salient features of UPSC EPFO Interview process
â The maximum marks for the interview is 100 marks.
â There is also a minimum qualifying cut off that a candidate needs to clear in order to be considered for shortlisting.
â A candidate will not be allowed for the interview round without the hardcopy of the call letter which will be issued a few days prior to the interview date.
â A Candidate might be asked about his/her educational qualifications along with working experience and questions pertaining to the job profile.

This section includes questions from topics such as Cloze test, Error detection, Para jumbles, Idioms and phrases, Fill in the Blanks, Replacing phrases, Comprehension passage, Sentence/ paragraph completion, Spelling correction, Synonyms/Antonyms and more.
This section includes topics like Seating arrangement,Puzzles, Blood relations, Direction and distance, Syllogism, Data sufficiency,Number system, Algebra, Factorization, Average, Ratio and proportion, Linear and Quadratic equations, Percentage, Simple and Compound interest, Profit and Loss, Time and work, Speed distance and time, Problems on ages and more.
Questions from basic elementary concepts in Chemistry, Physics and biology are asked along with basic knowledge of computers such as Operating system, Database management(DBMS), Data structure and Communication, Computer networking, Peripheral devices etc is required.
To score well in this section, a candidate must have the knowledge of topics such as History of India, Indian constitution, Structure and function of government in India, Social welfare schemes Launched by the Central and State government, Union budget, Financial and fiscal policies, Basic concepts of economics, micro and macro-economy in India, Revenue and expenditure and more.
National and International news pertaining to Politics,Sports, Financial/ Banking sector,Important Books and Authors, Awards and more. Also, knowledge of Important Days, Important Inventions and inventor, Discoveries, Various Awards and their significance and more is necessary.
Questions under this section could be asked from Important concepts like Accounting principles, Subsidiary Ledgers , Recording and Analyzing Transactions, Financial Statements and Adjustments, Journal entry and more.
