Indian Institute of Skills Flagged Off By Tata

In Mumbai, the first batch of Indian Institute of skills was inaugurated by Union Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Shri. Mahendra Nath Pandey. Conducted in a virtual medium, it’s a joint initiative between Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of India and Tata Indian Institute of Skills.

The first batch is expected start with two courses in Factory Automation for a duration range of one to four weeks, depending on the prequalification profile of the trainee.

“This institute will give a new impetus to the Skill India Mission by advancing India in the field of skill development and employment generation. With an aim to provide high-quality technical and vocational learning across various sectors, the foundation for state-of-the-art infrastructure was laid last year and today with the launch of its first set of courses at IIS Mumbai, I can proudly say that we are inching closer to achieve the vision of our Honorable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi of making India the ‘Skill Capital of the World. The entire set up to be developed keeping in mind that the present and the future lies in skill development,” explicated Union Minister Shri. Pandey.

The institute is also offering scholarships to the first 100 students and attractive fee options at the initial launch phase. A scholarship scheme of 75 percent has also been announced for the first 100 students/trainees. The IIS Mumbai with a World Class Training Environment is set to come up on a 4.5 Acre Campus at Chembur, Mumbai.
