King George’s Medical University (KGMU) is one of the most reputed State Medical University established in 1916. The state medical university offers MBBS, BDS, B.Sc. (Nursing) and DM/DH at undergraduate level. The university offers MD, MS, MDS and PG Diploma courses at the postgraduate level. Admission Criteria for Different UG Courses
The admissions in MBBS and BDS courses are based on the scores of NEET UG examination which is conducted at the All India Level. Also, Apart from NEET UG score, 70 seats will be filled on the basis of UP NEET counselling. Students are required to meet the following eligibility criteria in addition to the NEET scores:
Application Process: Candidates have to visit the official website of KGMU and fill the application form available online or can visit the administrative office of the University and submit their application offline. After that, make the payment of the application fee of INR 2000 (INR 1200 for SC/ST) in the form of challan through Allahabad or HDFC bank. The application fee can also be paid in any CBS branch or by Master/ Visa Card.
Admission Criteria for Different PG Courses
The King George’s Medical University offers many postgraduate courses like MD, MS, PG Diploma and many more. The admission in different courses are based on different entrance examinations. The final selection for MD/MS/MDS admission is entrance based- UP PGMEE (85% seats) or NEET PG (15% seats). Also, the final selection in PG Diploma course is also on the basis of UP PGMEE or NEET PG exam.
Admission Criteria for Other Courses
The State Medical University offers many programs like MPhil, PhD and post MD-PhD. Students have to appear for the entrance test followed by an interview in order to reserve their seat for the particular courses. The final selection for M.Phil. (Transitional Health Sciences) is based on NEET and UP NEET Score. For admission in M.Phil. (Clinical Psychology), candidates need to appear for a written test followed by personal interview. PhD and post-MD-PhD selections are based on the entrance test followed by an interview.
Application Process for Ph.D. Program
Candidates have to fill the application form in both online and offline mode. Make the payment of the application fee of INR 1500 through DD drawn in favour of “KGMU-PhD Program A/c” payable at Lucknow. After that, Candidates are required to send their application to the university address along with the documents listed below:
Common Application Procedure at KGMU
Candidates need to fill an online application form which is available on the official website of the university. Application can be submitted online only on the official website of KGMU. Candidates need to register themselves by creating a Login ID and Password on the website.
Once the candidates are successfully registered, they can submit the application along with the examination fees. Before going for the exam, candidates need to download the admit card, which is available on the registered ID. Candidates can make the payment for examination fee can be done by online and offline mode through Allahabad Bank or HDFC Bank.
