For the full year, the vendors generated revenue of $44 billion, which was a 4 percent increase compared to 2017 figures. Going by its report, figures showed that Cisco continues to dominate, grabbing 51 percent share of switches and routers market in the fourth quarter of 2018. It was considerably ahead of its competitors like Huawei, Nokia, Juniper, Arista Networks, and Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE). Another report by 650 Group came to a conclusion that Cisco also spearheads the global Ethernet switch market. The report acknowledged that Cisco was in control of 59 percent of what it refers to as the enterprise/campus market in 2018. Cisco was followed by HPE with 10 percent market share and Huawei on the heels with 8 percent market share. As for the data center switch market, 650 Group placed Cisco with 43 percent market share, followed by Arista with 13 percent share, Huawei with 8 percent share, and Juniper with 5 percent of the market share.
