It is a multiple of the following parameters related to equipment:1. Availability indicates the utilization of the machine and is based on its actual run time. It is the portion of time for which the machine is available for use and is dependent on its uptime.2. Performance indicates the efficiency of the machine and is based on its net operating time. It is the ratio of the actual versus the rated output of the machine and is dependent on its overall health.3. Quality indicates the yield of the machine and is based on its effective operating time. It is the percentage of the approved versus the total actual output of the machine and is dependent on its consistency in meeting the prescribed standards. OEE is based on the following factors:· Plant Operational Time is the number of working hours for the manufacturing plant· Planned Equipment Run Time = Plant Operational Time Planned Equipment Shutdown Time· Actual Equipment Run Time = Planned Equipment Run Time Unplanned Equipment Downtime· Target Count or Net Equipment Operating Time = Actual Equipment Run Time Speed Losses· Good Count or Effective Equipment Operating Time = Net Equipment Operating Time Quality LossesIN MY OPINIONWith 17 years of ERP consulting and domain experience in servicing and maintenance management, inventory management, procurement and marketing of industrial products and components, Niranjan currently is heading the design and operations of Fleet & Asset Management at Ramco Systems.
