By the way, not all success stories are dramatic. Here is a dramatic one. In October 2007, V V K Chandra, a local of Mahabubnagar, a town in undivided Andhra Pradesh was on a lookout for his most favorite book `Leaving Microsoft to Change the World' by John Woods. Now, Chandra happened to be running a freelance web consultancy and he used to travel 90 Kms into the city of Hyderabad to quench his thirst for inspiration from books. But, his poor fortune didn't fetch him the one book he craved for. So, being a blogger he posted a search to which a random individual going by the name `Sachin' commented a link to a website. Tempted by the weird link, Chandra opens it only to find himself on a site that purported to sell books and ship them anywhere in India. To his sheer joy, the website had the book stocked. Since, the price was quoted just 500, Chandra decided to try his luck out; he placed the order. Next thing you know, a shrill of joy and laughter filled a small two bedroom apartment in Koramangala, Bangalore. The web URL Sachin commented was `www.flipkart.com'. Flipkart had just taken its first step towards becoming a USD 7.9 Billion worth Indian eCommerce `Giant'. This was the first sale Flipkart ever made.
