AMD with itse ultra-portable device which is powered by its new Ryzen 4000 mobile processors, is ready to power your next computer.
“When I see what they [Intel] are trying to do, I think they’ve got a different vision for wanting to push power higher… and I am a little concerned what that means for the battery life,” Scott Stankard, Senior Product Manager at AMD told Indian Express over a phone call.
“At this moment, the Ryzen 4000 series is the best product in the market. It’s the only place where you can get eight cores and 16 threads, you can get high-performance graphics, you can get great battery life all in a single solution. And, frankly, I didn’t see anything in the announcement that fundamentally changed that.”
AMD is said to have taken lead with its Ryzen 4000 HS-Series processors over Intel. This series is expected to give high-level performance to thinner laptops made for gaming and content creation.
“The impact, as we saw with the launch of our Ryzen 4000 is just the ability to do things and form factors that we couldn’t do before,” Stankard said. “It’s bringing what in the past had been a gaming laptop performance into an ultra-thin form factor. That’s something we started with AMD and I see the competition echoing that sort of lineup.”
“I see a lot of the value therefore in content creation, Stankard said while doubling down the core count. “Some content creation applications are more cores focused and they can make full use of all the cores. And then other applications are more graphics sensitive, and they can make use of the high-performance graphics. The Ryzen 4000 is the only place where you can get that right,” he added, speaking about the innovation that has taken place in the company lately.
