In an effort to compete with Meta Platform, the cloud computing division of Chinese tech giant Alibaba Group launched two open-sourced artificial intelligence (AI) models. According to sources, the Hangzhou-based business announced that it would make two large language models (LLM), a category of AI model, known as Qwen-7B and Qwen-7B-Chat, publicly available. The 7 billion parameters that make up each model are frequently used to gauge its strength. This comes after Meta last month revealed a comparable open-sourced model called Llama 2.
