To be launched in the month of September on 23rd, Apple’s online store will deliver customers premium experience of Apple Stores located worldwide. The online team members will offer their expertise as said by Apple.
Earlier this year, in the month of February, Tim Cook, Apple CEO, said, “Apple will launch its online store in India later this year, while it’s first physical retail store will open in the country in 2021.”
Deirdre O''Brien, Apple Senior Vice-President, Retail+People, said, “We know our users are relying on technology to stay connected, engage in learning, and tap into their creativity, and by bringing the Apple Store online to India, we are offering our customers the very best of Apple at this important time.”
Apple is currently selling products in India via third-parties, online market places like Flipkart and Amazon. Now, pushing the single-brand retail, the government, last year, relaxed foreign direct investment (FDI) guidelines, for players on flexibility on local sourcing norms.
Apple has always done away with a provision, which required companies to primarily set up a brick-and-mortar store, afore getting into online retail business. After the government's move, Apple said that it was keen on delivering online and in-store experiences to Indian consumers aligning with its global standards.
Apple Store will allow people to shop for Apple products, with online Apple specialists available to help with services like custom-configuring, including Macs to launch new devices.
Customers will gain knowledge about new products of Apple on both English and Hindi.
With financing options and trade-in programmes, the online store will collect all orders from the Apple Store for shipping with contactless delivery.
Orders will not require a signature, will be delivered to customer's door, and a safe distance for verbal communication will be maintained instead of a written signature.
Apple is in the Indian market for 20+ years. Apple’s ongoing investment and innovation will allow 9 lakh+ jobs in India.
Apple’s App Design and Development Accelerator in Bengaluru already supported thousands of local developers.
Apple’s app Wysa, an AI-based app, helps users get mental wellness assistance at an affordable rate, and YogiFi, computer-envisioned, corrects posture real-time with ML curating personalised yoga plans.
