Google India had said that artificial intelligence alone has the prowess to add USD 500 billion to the economy, and guide in better forecasting of floods and accurate diagnosis of diseases.
Google has committed USD 10 billion for expanding India’s digital footprint.
Sanjay Gupta, Google India Country Manager & VP, said, "The COVID-19 pandemic has prompted us to use every tool at our disposal to address the challenges and opportunities before us.”
Google had in recent days collected a 7.37 per cent stake in Reliance Industries Ltd.’s (RIL) digital subsidiary, Jio Platforms Ltd. Both the companies have also declared their plans to come up with “an entry-level affordable smartphone”.
Sanjay Gupta said that during the pandemic, data consumption went over to 14 GB per month from 8 GB. In 2014, the average consumption was just around 86 MB per month, he added further.
Sanjay Gupta also said that by 2022, UPI transactions will reach the one-billion-a-day mark from just a billion per month in the present days.
