First Online Retail Store of Apple In India Goes Live

appleonlinestorelaunchIn India, Apple opens its first online store, which went live today. Apple confirmed the launch of the retail store last week. For the first time in India, Apple launches the online store, first-party retail network. After this launch, in addition to sales of iPhones and Apple products, which happened through third-party distributors, and resellers in Flipkart and Amazon, will be done directly from Apple online store.

Indian buyers can buy specific products from the store, which has six Indian languages and English. On the web store, users will be able to customize Mac computers according to their requirements. This service by Apple is the first time in the Indian market.

Apple will proffer specialized support for Apple products in both Hindi and English. The new products by Apple, which are Apple Watch SE and Apple Watch Series 6 will also be sold in the online store.

Deirdre O’Brien, Senior Vice President of Retail and People at appApple, said, “One thing we’ve learned is when we enter the market with Apple Retail, all boats rise. It creates tremendous interest in our products, which are available on our online store and through our network of trusted resellers, allowing us to connect with our customers where they are. As of today, Apple Store Online is selling a wide range of Apple products.”

The Indian buyers will be able to select from Apple’s complete list of products. Later this year, Apple One subscription-based services will be added to the online store. With the launch of the online store, it is expected that Apple will have more control over the retail experiences, for which it is famous globally.

As per the industry estimates, Apple now owns only about 2 percent market share in the Indian market.

During the ending of this quarter, this year in June, Apple gained from supply issues it faced from the competition. IDC (International Data Corporation) states that the market share by Apple in the premium segment went up.
