FPT, a global IT company, Chugoku Electric Power, a top utility provider in Japan, and Enecom, a notable innovator in technology and communication, have recently established a partnership to expedite Chugoku Electric Power’s digital transformation objectives. This partnership is poised to greatly enhance the Japanese energy powerhouse’s ambitious “Energia Change 2030” program, which emphasizes innovation, operational efficiency, and sustainability.
FPT and Enecom will work together to assist Chugoku Electric Power in its digital transformation efforts by employing cutting-edge technologies like Generative AI and Cloud computing. Before this agreement, FPT worked with Enecom on power generation systems, and in 2023, it assisted Chugoku Electric Power in launching a Microsoft 365 pilot project, establishing the groundwork for company-wide implementation. Utilizing FPT’s international delivery model and expertise from previous projects with Enecom and Chugoku Electric Power, the three firms are also negotiating to create a Vietnam-based Offshore Development Center (ODC), focused on offering affordable and scalable IT solutions.
“The energy and utilities sector in Japan is characterized by a strong focus on digital transformation, operational efficiency, and the integration of advanced technologies to enhance service delivery and sustainability. With FPT’s deep domain understanding and a robust global workforce, we will drive impactful innovations for Chugoku Electric Power, to not only achieve its transformative goals but also reinforce its leading position among the country’s largest energy players,” said Do Van Khac, FPT Software Senior Executive Vice President and FPT Japan Chief Executive Officer, FPT Corporation.
