Nowadays, banking related crimes are high on rise, hence one needs to be very careful to share any kind of confidential information related to Credit card, debit card, UPI pin, among others.
Today, scammers and hackers are developing various methods to lure in people and steal their vital data. When we are talking about the mail scam, it is a URL based attack where fraudsters try to steal a user’s personal banking information.
The Government of India has shared a post via Twitter advising customers to use two separate mail accounts.
And to fight against these kinds of breach, CyberDost- cybersafety and cybersecurity awareness handles would be maintained by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
“ALways make two separate email accounts. One for the communication with people you trust and for your financial transactions. Use a separate email account for registering on social networking sites . This will protect your primary account from online stalkers,” stated CyberDost in its latest tweet.
Also, to avoid online stalking, the account that has been assigned with the banks should not be shared in social networking sites. Hence, one account should be used for social purpose and the other should be used for financial transactions.
