Guru Venkatachalam Appointed as APJ CTO of VMware

VMware, the enterprise software major, on Wednesday announced the appointment of Guru Venkatachalam as the new Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for the Asia Pacific and Japan region.

Guru Venkatachalam contributed as the CTO of Cloud Architecture to VMware before this appointment.

Guru Venkatachalam’s appointment is announced after the retirement of Bruce Davie, the former Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for Asia Pacific and Japan – “Guru is a seasoned industry leader who has driven large scale innovation and expanded our CXO engagement in Asia Pacific and Japan. I am delighted to have him in the role of CTO for APJ as we drive customer and partner engagement in the region and help enterprises transform with modern applications, cloud, digital workspace and security.”

Guru Venkatachalam leads the Asia Pacific and Japan regions at VMware for development of trusted partnerships with the customers and partners and delivers solutions in parallel to the strategic priorities.

Guru Venkatachalam will be playing a major role in the forthcoming development of the company’s cloud, app modernization, networking, security, and digital workspace platforms.

He brings with him a healthy experience of 28 years in the information technology sector.
