CARNARVON, ON: Heat-Line Freeze Protection Systems, a provider of freeze protection products has introduced Retro-FM and Retro-DWS, freeze protection systems for sewage, waste water lines and drainage lines.
Retro-FM and Retro-DWS use a self regulating heating cable system installed inside a half inch High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) tube where conductive polymer tubular heating technology is used to provide a barrier from fluids.
Retro-FM is designed to provide freeze protection for pressurized sewage and grey water force mains and sewage pipes with large diameters. The self-regulating heating cable system does not cause over-heating even when the pipe is dry, making it suitable for use in pipes that go dry periodically or drain back. It comes in both 120Volt and 240Volt with ground-fault protection or cord set and can be used as a precautionary system. This product’s applications include rural and municipal sewage force mains among many others.
On the other hand, Retro-DWS is designed to interface 3 and 4 inch Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) pipes using a clean-out, and Tee or Wye as an access point and can be used in pipes with larger diameter using industry standard components. In pipes of larger diameter, the product is designed to provide a melt-water path to allow the continuous flow of fluids without the use of high-watt density heat cables that are energy-expensive.
