Enrique Lores, the CEO of HP Inc., has emphasised that the company is confident in manufacturing its next-generation range of goods domestically in India to better serve the home market while supply chain issues continue to plague IT companies abroad.
As per Lores, India is a crucial market for HP, where growth is ongoing and the business continues to discover new prospects.
"We will increase our manufacturing footprint in India to cater well to the domestic demand. Eventually, we see India manufacturing to help us better serve the rest of the world," Lores said during the company's flagship 'HP Amplify Partner Conference 2023' here.
In India, HP Inc. already produces a variety of PC products, including laptops, as part of the government's "Made in India" programme.
At the Flex manufacturing site in Sriperumbudur, close to Chennai, Tamil Nadu, the business produces a variety of laptop, desktop tower, and tiny desktop models.
Display monitors are another product that HP makes in the nation.
According to the most recent data from international market research firm Canalys, the corporation dominated the Indian PC (excluding tablets) market with a market share of more than 30% in both the fourth quarter and the entire 2022 period.
In India, the business is now producing a variety of laptops, including HP EliteBooks, HP ProBooks, and notebooks from the HP G8 series.
It has also added a variety of types of desktop mini towers (MT), mini desktops (DM), small form factor (SFF) desktops, and a selection of All-in-One PCs to its line of locally built commercial desktops.
These products serve a variety of consumer sectors and offer both Intel and AMD processor options.
Commercial desktops will be produced in the nation starting in August 2020 thanks to a collaboration between HP and supply chain and manufacturing solutions provider Flex.
India presents a significant possibility for the business, claims Lores.
"We will continue to invest in India which has always been one of the primary markets for us globally," the HP CEO told IANS.
The leading manufacturer of PCs and printers is diversifying the range of goods it manufactures in India in order to contribute significantly to the development of the nation as a hub for manufacturing on a global scale.
In order to improve the quality of life for millions of people and to empower their lives, the company has been collaborating with the federal and state governments.
Lores also added, digital transformation has accelerated as large organisations and small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) in India and abroad push the refresh button in the wake of the pandemic. The adoption of digital technology is not just restricted to huge enterprises but more and more SMBs are on the road to realising their digital aspirations and embracing cutting-edge, secure workspaces.
