Infosys announced an increase in its collaboration with American chipmaker Nvidia to create GenAI-driven solutions for telecom providers. The IT major created three generative AI solutions using Topaz, its AI platform, incorporating Nvidia NIM inference microservices, Nvidia NeMo Retriever embedding models, and NeMo Guardrails to tailor and implement generative AI telco domain-specific large-language models.

According to a regulatory filing, Nvidia Riva has been used to enable call center agents to do real-time transcription and translations.

"Telcos are increasingly adopting generative AI solutions to improve the productivity of their businesses with smarter networks, more efficient operations, and enhanced customer service.

"Leveraging Nvidia's full-stack accelerated computing and AI platform, Infosys Topaz is delivering a suite of domain-specific solutions that will help telcos accelerate and streamline their adoption of generative AI," Ronnie Vasishta, Senior Vice President of Telecom at Nvidia, said.

According to the report, these AI solutions that are capable of generating content on their own have led to a decrease in latency by up to 61 percent and an improvement in accuracy by 22 percent. Infosys shares closed down by 0.35 per cent at Rs 1,932.40 each on the BSE.
