Rafael Nadal, a tennis star from Spain, and
Infosys have agreed to a three-year cooperation as well as a joint project to create an
artificial intelligence (AI) tool. An AI-powered match analysis tool is being created by the second-largest IT company in India and Rafael Nadal's coaching staff. When Nadal returns to the circuit, his coaching staff will have access to this customized technology in real time to track insights from his live matches as well as historical data from his prior matches.
Nadal holds a record with 14 French Open victories among his 22 Grand Slam victories. The Bengaluru-based business has served as the Australian Open, Roland-Garros, ATP Tour, and International Tennis Hall of Fame's digital innovation partner.
“Brand Infosys has helped reimagine the tennis ecosystem for a billion fans globally leveraging AI, cloud, data analytics and digital experiences,” the release said.
For the tennis ecosystem, Infosys has released more than 30 innovations combining the power of AI, cloud, metaverse, mixed reality, and other cutting-edge technology. Other Infosys developments for the tennis ecosystem include investigations into the digital realm using mixed reality, social VR (virtual reality), and 3D art museums to reach tennis enthusiasts all over the world with the sport's history and traditions.
The Carbon Tracker, recently introduced by Infosys, enables ATP players to monitor and reduce emissions caused by their travel while on tour. It is a sport-specific first for sustainable technology.
“I’m very happy to work closely with Infosys, as they work to not only evolve the experience of tennis to the times, but also empower people in our communities to be part of a brighter future. I love the way Infosys has brought its digital expertise across industries to the global tennis ecosystem. I believe it’s our shared aspiration to create societal good that makes our handshake truly meaningful,” said Rafael Nadal.
