New Employee Experience Platform 'Viva' Launched By Microsoft

On Thursday, Microsoft launched new employee experience platform known Viva. It is designed for helping people learn, grow and achieve in the new experiences which integrate with the productivity and collaboration capabilities in Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams.

This launch is completed when the economic and social trends are driving huge benefits in the workforce engagement.

During the launch, when there is an increasing shift of distributed and digital work environment, demand has increased for solutions that support the corporate culture, knowledge discovery, on-the-job learning and employee well-being.

The CEO of Microsoft, Satya Nadella, said, “Microsoft participated in the largest at-scale remote work experiment the world witnessed and it has had a dramatic impact on the employee experience.”

He added, “Every organisation will require a unified employee experience from onboarding and collaboration to continuous learning and growth. Viva brings together everything an employee needs to be successful, from day one, in a single, integrated experience directly in Teams."

Analysis show that the size of the nascent Employee Experience Platform (EXP) category at $300 billion in annual spend.

This spans what is today a divided market of services, infrastructure, and hundreds of tools. Most of the things are yet to be discovered and underutilized by employees at the companies that have invested in them.

The Corporate Vice President of Microsoft 365, Jared Spataro said, “As the world of work changes, the next horizon of innovation will come from a focus on creativity, engagement and well being so organisations can build cultures of resilience and ingenuity.”

He added, "Our vision is to deliver a platform for the employee experience that helps organizations create a thriving culture with engaged employees and inspiring leaders."

Microsoft Viva develops on the power of Teams and Microsoft 365 for unifying the employee experience in four major areas of engagement, well-being, learning, and knowledge in an coagulated experience.
