To provide end-to-end 4G and 5G network solutions in the country, Government-owned telecom equipment manufacturer Indian Telephone Industries Limited or ITI is in discussion with Indian firms.
This establishment with 70 years of history has announced that it is in conversation with Tata Consultancy Services and Tech Mahindra for the same.
Through equipment and infrastructure built within the country, the move is meant to enable the deployment of 4G and 5G networks across India, as per a report by PTI.
Considered essential for 4G and 5G technologies, ITI aims to initiate this by manufacturing equipment for the E and V band spectrum. Furthermore, in the defence and telecom service network, it plans to make enterprise grade routers to enable secure data transfer.
"Our company with its efficient and innovative state-of-art facilities and capabilities for manufacturing telecom equipment plans to manufacture eNodeB and 5G NR (new radio) products in its various plants," ITI chairman and managing director R M Agarwal said in the report.
