The Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, on Thursday, said that it is time for tech solutions, designed in India, get deployed for the world, and India is positioned at unique to leap ahead in the information era.
Shri Narendra Modi said, "India as a country is uniquely positioned to leap ahead in the information era. We have the best minds as well as the biggest market. Our local tech solutions have the potential to go global.”
While addressing the Bengaluru Tech Summit 2020 (BTS2020), in virtual media, Modi said, “India is positioned at the sweet spot, and now tech solutions that are designed in India, but deployed for the world.”
He said that his government’s policy decisions are always completed at liberalizing the tech and innovations industry. Modi said, “Recently, we have eased the compliance burden on the IT industry in various ways, besides we have always tried to engage with stakeholders in the tech industry and chart out future policy framework for India.”
Shri Modi also took note of the present Digital India has become a way of life, particularly for the poor, marginalized and those in the government.
"Thanks to Digital India our nation has witnessed a more human-centric approach to development. Using technology on such a large scale had brought about several life changes for our citizens," he said.
Focusing on the government’s successful creation of a market for digital and tech solutions, where it made technology as a key part of all schemes, Modi said that the governance model prefers technology first. He added, “Through technology we have enhanced human dignity. Millions of farmers receive monetary support in one click, at the peak of COVID lockdown it was technology that ensured that India's poor received proper and quick assistance. The scale of this relief has few parallels."
The government of Karnataka, along with Karnataka Innovation and Technology Society, organized Karnataka government’s Vision Group of Information Technology, Biotechnology & Startup, and Software Technology Parks of India. The summit is scheduled from November 19 to 21, where 25+ nations are participating in the 23rd edition of the event. It includes thought leaders, industry captains, technocrats, researchers, innovators, investors, policy-makers, and educators from India and different parts of the world, said by officials.
The event will witness participation of 200+ Indian companies setting up their virtual exhibition, where more than 4,000 delegates, 270 speakers, almost 75 panel discussions and 50,000 participants will participate every day.
