To lead and shape the company's stance on tech policy issues in India, Facebook has nominated Sunil Abraham as the Public Policy Director for Data and Emerging Tech.
The company stated that Abraham would see through the building of partnerships and engagements with key stakeholders in the public area of data privacy, consumer protection, and also in AI-led innovation for new products and services.
Abraham will be contributing across important policy development initiatives and proceedings in India and the South Asia region. He would be looking after the public policy leadership team on data privacy, protection, and also new and emerging tech. Also, he will be representing Facebook's position in these multi-stakeholder processes.
Furthermore, in order to focus on accessibility, openness, access to knowledge, internet governance, digital humanities, and telecom regulation, Sunil Abraham had also co-founded the Centre for Internet and Society, a policy and academic research organization.
