Following its separation from Walmart, Tata Consultancy Services announced a
multi-year deal with British retail giant Asda to help its digital transformation and adopt a new organization-wide
IT operating model. The financials of the transaction were not revealed. TCS has also been a long-time seller to Walmart. According to a release, the strategic alliance will utilize TCS' cloud, AI, and security technologies to assist Asda complete the divestment efficiently, on schedule, and safely. TCS will also assist Asda improve its customer experience and innovation skills in order to expand market share and maintain pricing leadership.
TCS will implement multiple cloud-based ERP platforms to streamline Asda’s supply chain forecasting, buying and merchandising processes, HR processes, warehouse management, and ecommerce processes, as per economic times.
