A strategic partnership between Commsignia Ltd. and Mitsubishi Electric Corporation was announced in order to deliver Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) technology. The V2X platform will support the safety of autonomous driving and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) by combining Commsignia's V2X solution and Mitsubishi Electric's High-Definition Locator (HDL) technology.
The installation and commercial use of V2X systems in vehicles is being considered by various governments in many different nations as a major communication technology. The goal of Commsignia and Mitsubishi Electric's new relationship is to accelerate the introduction of commercial V2X solutions that can help create increasingly secure assisted and autonomous driving solutions.
The V2X solution from Commsignia, which combines communication software with security measures and application software, has an optimised software architecture that guarantees scalability for next-generation automobiles. Based on patented high-precision positioning and mapping data for roads, lanes, and other physical circumstances in the proximity of moving cars, Mitsubishi Electric is already mass producing HDL systems that precisely pinpoint the locations of vehicles.
Mitsubishi Electric's HDL data and Commsignia's V2X solution should be combined to create systems that can properly detect dynamic circumstances in vehicle perimeters and considerably enhance the accuracy of warnings of impending collisions. The envisioned method, for instance, will use the precise positions of a driver's car and other nearby vehicles to validate their respective lanes and properly identify any risk of accident, even on hairpin curves when vehicles ahead cannot be recognised visually or by on-board sensors.
The approach is specifically anticipated to decrease the frequency of false alarms and deliver more fast, accurate alerts that offer drivers more time to react.
