Vodafone Idea has teamed with Motorola to enable seamless 5G connectivity throughout its fifth-generation smartphone portfolio. The announcement comes just after Vodafone Idea received a boost when the Centre cleared the conversion of the struggling telco's accrued interest debt, which totaled Rs 16,000 crore, into equity.

After the conversion to equity, the government will own around 33% of the business, but without management authority.

"To further accelerate the development of the 5G ecosystem in the nation, Vi has partnered with Motorola to ensure seamless 5G connectivity across its extensive 5G smartphone portfolio," the two companies said in a statement on Monday.

The statement added: "With the association, Motorola has successfully tested its latest and most popular smartphone models on 3350 to 3400 MHz spectrum bands on Vi 5G network in New Delhi."

The Aditya Birla Group and the Vodafone Group have partnered to form Vodafone Idea Limited. It is the top telecom service provider in India. On 2G, 3G, and 4G platforms, the company offers voice and data services throughout India. The company is dedicated to providing wonderful customer experiences and contributing to the creation of a genuinely "Digital India" by enabling millions of individuals to connect and forge a brighter future with the enormous spectrum portfolio to meet the growing demand for data and voice.
