Zimmer Biomet Inks Agreement To Acquire OSSIS

Zimmer Biomet Holdings, Inc. (NYSE and SIX: ZBH), a global medical technology leader, announced that it has reached a definitive agreement to acquire OSSIS, a privately held medical device company specialising in personalised 3D printed implants as well as complex hip replacements, including second-time hip replacements and replacements involving bone tumours and trauma.
 
OSSIS enables the rapid design and manufacture of personalised implants, which aligns with Zimmer Biomet's aim to provide personalised experiences in order to improve patient outcomes. This purchase highlights Zimmer Biomet's commitment to medical technology innovation and reinforces the Company's position as a worldwide medical technology leader.
 
In July 2021, Zimmer Biomet announced a partnership with OSSIS as its Asia Pacific partner for patient-specific 3D-printed titanium hip joint replacements and other pelvic bone replacement surgeries. In December 2022, the cooperation was expanded to include Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The acquisition continues a successful cooperation and will allow Zimmer Biomet to expand its hip reconstruction product portfolio.
