Cognizant, a major provider of IT services with headquarters in the US, announced that it had been awarded a five-year contract to revamp and support Nike's technological operations.

Financial details of the Deal, however, were kept secret.

Over the next five years, Cognizant is anticipated to provide Nike with a number of critical capabilities, including new self-service capabilities, increased service productivity, and considerable cost reductions.

This new arrangement would unify a number of Nike's current IT support operations with Cognizant servicing Nike in more than 40 countries, building on the businesses' 14-year history of cooperation.

Through three main areas of technology operations—multilingual IT customer care, deskside and dispatch depot, as well as application and infrastructure assist—Cognizant will assist the company's clients, partners, as well as its 70,000 workers.

"By bridging our retail industry and technology expertise together with our 14-year-knowledge of Nike's business, we are able to equip them with the advanced IT capabilities required to support their global growth and ensure seamless technology experiences for all," said Sushant Warikoo, head of Cognizant's retail industry business unit.

As part of the arrangement, Cognizant will provide technical support for both Nike's clients and staff.

For fixing any hardware difficulties for employees, including laptops and work phones, Cognizant will provide onsite and remote assistance at locations all over the world. Cognizant will also offer engineering and backend solutions for all of Nike's enterprise-wide applications, including mobile apps, computer software, and Nike.com, through Level 1 & 2 support.
