The expansion of Infosys' partnership with Microsoft has been announced. This will aid in accelerating enterprise cloud transition across the globe.
The duration of the agreement or the financial rewards were not disclosed.
According to a filing with the stock exchange, the expanded partnership between Infosys and Microsoft will considerably benefit businesses by providing them both Infosys Cobalt cloud products and Microsoft's cloud computing technologies, lead by Azure, along the whole corporate value chain.
“The joint capabilities across application modernisation, enterprise solutions, data analytics and AI, digital workplace solutions, low-code, no-code power platforms and cybersecurity innovations will create a robust foundation for cloud-powered transformation,” the filing added.
“Infosys and Microsoft have a longstanding 360-degree strategic collaboration. On the one hand, Infosys plays a pivotal role in accelerating Microsoft’s transformation with digital services. Infosys has embraced Microsoft technology and Microsoft cloud solutions to empower our over 300,000 employees,” said Anand Swaminathan, EVP and global industry leader for communications, media and technology at Infosys.
As per chief executive Salil Parekh, Infosys sees a significant opportunity in the cloud and digital industry and will continue to concentrate on enhancing its expertise in these fields.
As said by Parekh, despite persistent worries about inflation and the geopolitical unrest in Europe, the entire market size for cloud and digital services worldwide is predicted to increase to $830–890 billion by 2027 from $410–450 billion today, growing at a rate of 14–16% annually.
“We will fine-tune some of that focus (on cloud and digital). We have a huge opportunity to gain market share because of good capabilities built till now and we will continue that in the current cycle,” Parekh had said.
GE Digital, the US-based conglomerate's software subsidiary, and Infosys also announced a partnership earlier this month to speed up grid transformation for the utilities industry.
In order to speed up grid transformation for their new and existing clients, GE Digital and Infosys will together deliver innovative and scalable solutions to the utilities industry, according to an exchange filing.
The ideas will aid grid managers in realising a more dependable and environmentally friendly system.
