Boston Limited, the distribution partner for Super Micro Computer, has introduced a new, end-to-end 12Gb/s SAS 3.0 storage solution featuring LSI MegaRAID technology and the LSI 12Gb/s SAS Expander with DataBolt bandwidth optimizer. The Boston Igloo 2U-16T-Stor is a storage server which has employed SAS 3.0 technology to increase the performance of the previous generation SAS 6Gbit/s interconnect. It combines LSI MegaRAID technology, LSI DataBolt bandwidth optimization, Supermicro hardware and 24 high performance Western Digital XE 900GB 2.5" hard drives to create an enterprise-class platform for enterprise datacenter, cloud, virtualized server and OLTP environments. By Introducing LSI's latest generation of 12Gb/s SAS controller, the Igloo 2U-16T-Stor can provide data protection and performance demanded by both applications and end users. The LSI MegaRAID SAS 9361-4i 12Gb/s SAS and SATA RAID controller card confronts demands of applications and end users by delivering proven performance and RAID data protection for a range of server storage applications. Furthermore the Igloo 2U-16T-Stor is pre-installed with Windows Server 2012 R2, enabling users to deploy and manage a multi-tenant cloud infrastructure within a flexible IT environment. "Boston is delighted to launch our latest 12Gb/s SAS 3.0 solution, in partnership with LSI and Supermicro, that doubles the acceleration in storage performance for I/O intensive applications, with the constantly increasing demand for faster data access, problems caused by IO bottlenecks can seriously impact the chances of a business achieving its goals. Leveraging SAS 3.0 can help dramatically lower latency, improve performance and remove data bottlenecks that were previously unavoidable with existing technology, “says Manoj Nayee, MD of Boston Limited.
