The effect and possibilities of artificial intelligence have constantly been discussed, with many experts believing it has the ability to outperform humans. Others predict that AI capabilities and intelligence will eliminate 50% of all occupations. However, in a podcast, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates stated that AI will not take jobs, but rather "change it forever." Learn more about the podcast and Gates' remarks on AI and a three-day work week.

Bill Gates recently appeared on Trevor Noah's podcast ‘What Now” during which they had a discussion about the benefits and the risks of AI. The billionaire said on the podcast that the integration of AI in work life has the potential to create a 3-day work week, as per hindustantimes.

During the 45-minute conversation, Gates discussed how people might adapt to technology such as AI. People will not have to work 40 to 48 hours a week with an effective transition and government help. AI will create more free time for humans and there will be a day when they "don't have to work so hard." Gates said, “if you eventually get a society where you only have to work three days a week, that's probably OK.”

We recently published Autonomy research indicating that with the aid of AI, individuals in the United States and the United Kingdom might transition to a four-day work week by 2033. While there has been much debate regarding the advantages and threats of AI, Gates has previously stated that the impact of AI will not be spectacular, but it may be as significant as the arrival of personal computers. "Word processing applications did not eliminate office work, but they did change it forever." Employers and employees both needed to adjust, which they did." Gates stated this in July.
