Rackspace, a managed cloud company, announces support for Microsoft SQL Server 2014 to include new features such as In-Memory Online Transaction Processing (OLTP) and AlwaysOn Availability. With Rackspace database administrators (DBA) service, customers can tap Rackspace DBAs to migrate or upgrade existing workloads to SQL Server 2014 In-Memory OLTP on the Rackspace Managed Cloud. By combining In-Memory OLTP with Managed High Availability, Rackspace helps customers speed up OLTP workloads to up to 30x while enabling greater uptime. Using Rackspace DBA customers can rapidly scale up performance and drive greater database consolidation density. It also offers database administrators and database architects with multiple tiers of fanatical support. With Managed Private Cloud Powered by Microsoft Cloud Platform and the built-in Database-as-a- Service (DaaS), customers can benefit from a managed, physically isolated private cloud environment that enables customers to programmatically create SQL Server 2014 database on demand. Customers can pick up a disaster recovery location including Microsoft Azure to strengthen their high availability and disaster recovery capabilities. “Adding support for Microsoft SQL Server 2014 to Rackspace DBA Services enables customers to increase performance and make more efficient use of IT resources.
