| |December 20189CIOReviewWith huge data, comes the responsibility of a well-managed data centre a need felt by every CIO todaytheir data and workloads on multi-ple cloud services or in a hybrid en-vironment. The challenge in APAC, including India is that although there's much talk about multi-cloud, companies are only using a single cloud for specific workloads. That is likely to change over the next three to five years as more customers see how they can utilise a multi-cloud environment and seamlessly move data across clouds. Coming of Hyper Converged Infrastructure As per a recent report by Market-sandMarkets, the global HCI market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 43.59% reaching US$ 12,607 mil-lion by 2022. Herein, APAC is es-timated to be the fastest-growing region. The reason lies in the need to streamline infrastructure manage-ment and backend systems. IT teams today spend an inordinate amount of time completing mundane tasks such as provisioning, monitoring and troubleshooting. As data rises so does the propensity of errors. Pro-gressive CIOs are assessing and eye-ing Converged Infrastructure (CI) and HCI to reduce integration chal-lenges and free up the IT team's time for more value-adding initiatives.AI and its infinite possibilities Artificial intelligence is the future of digital business, as it has the po-tential to transform everything from business operations to the customer experience. APAC is increasingly deploying AI capabilities. Neverthe-less, it's an uphill task and as per a Forrester study on AI, enterprises looking to adopt AI face real, urgent challenges that hinder their ability to take advantage of the many benefits AI technology promises to offer. Their biggest challenge in adopting AI technologies is gathering and integrating big data. In addition, companies looking to adopt AI also struggle to overcome operational is-sues and identifying the right tech-nology or service partners. The best way to deal with these challenges is for the CIOs to choose partners who offer expertise in data manage-ment as well as in building precise and effective models, so they can get started towards making the most of everything AI has to offer. With these exciting and dynamic changes in the industry, enterprises will have to navigate through these transitions from hard-disk drives to flash to the cloud. The prolifera-tion of technologies will profoundly impact the storage market moving forward and organizations looking at new age adoption can hope for many benefits. These upcoming technologies are creating greater levels of data control and management within organizations making businesses smarter, faster, and fully integrated with cloud. The convergence of cloud computing, flash/HCI storage and AI is enabling next-generation, high-performance and high-efficien-cy data centers. Rajender Singh Bhandari
