STMicroelectronics' STiH273 HD Cable Chip Set to speed up DEN's HD Zapper set-up boxes

New Delhi: The leading semiconductor company, STMicroelectronics (NYSE: STM), recently announced that its STiH273 HD cable chip set has been selected by the leading Indian cable TV distributor, DEN Networks. The cable chip set is going to be the imperative component of the DEN’s newest HD Zapper set-up boxes. Headquartered in New Delhi, DEN Networks is claimed to be one of the market leaders in India’s digital television space, reaching an estimated 13 million households across 13 key states of the country.

The 1987 born, STMicroelectronics has been one of the world leaders in infusing its vast collection of technologies and design expertise into customers. This largest chip maker focuses on its product strategies and embedded-processing solutions for excellence. The company’s STiH273 (Palma) chip set is engineered on the latest process technology that provides a highly integrated System On Chips (SoC) ICs for set-up boxes. With an improved processing engine which encompasses integrated on-chip features, the chipset is manufactured in 40nm process technology. It incorporates a field-proven and deployed Digital Video Broadcast-Cable (DVB-C) demodulator that accelerates the performance of external Controller Area Networks (CANs).
